I am from the area. I grew up here and watched the amazing growth of the Branson area. My career has taken me all over the country. I have visited many cities for work and play. The Promenade in LA, The River walk in San Antonio, Rush Street in Chicago, Times Square in New York, most cities with a down town revitalization project are all very successful tourist attractions that blend local culture, i.e. mom and pop businesses with well planned developments.
Branson is a fantastic place to visit. Branson Landing is exceptional. The planners took a calculated risk and believe it will pay off. The larger stable businesses help to insure the success of the area. I always hear negative attitudes from local people who feel they have to give their approval for something to succeed. If wasn't their idea it has to be a bad idea. The Landing came in and changed the downtown area of Branson. So did the Music Theaters on the strip years ago. It is all good for the local and regional area.
I currently run a business in Springfield, Mo and I bring my clients, family and friends to the Landing on a regular basis. My thanks go out to everyone involved.

Hi Kayakman, was wondering if you could help me out. I would like to back pack and/or day hike in the Upper Buffalo Wilderness.

I would love to follow the river upstream, maybe day hike some hollows. Can you describe the best access points and perhaps the route that would work out?
